I’m truly sorry February 14, 2009

for the lack of updates.
The past few weeks have been bit hectic.
I got sick with a really stubborn fever the week I had 4 tests and quite a few lab reports due. Fun. Due to other things these weeks have downright sucked aswell. Right now I’m struggling to get past a break up while still plotting on a way to get him back. Sad right?
To be honest I feel lousy right now but I’ll be fine someday.
I have the opportunity to join a sorority and I’d really love to, it would be an easy way to make really good friends. But I just don’t know if I have the time to put into it. It would keep my mind off other things but then again I really want to keep my focus on schoolwork.
I’ll try to update more frequently
Child Abuse February 2, 2009

Just finished a 6 page essay on child abuse. The essay was supposed to be 1200 words but I just couldn’t stop myself and somehow it ended up on 2100. Leave it or edit it? I’m going to ruin it if I edit out parts… I always do this, me and my insane writing frenzys.
I have my only 8am class tomorrow and I need to go to bed but my bed is covered in papers and clothes and I really don’t want to clean it. What to do?
Seeking relationship advice from someone with experience in the area. I feel completely lost and I feel like I have no idea where to draw the line for what is acceptable and normal and what is not. Advice would be greatly appreciated

Scrubs February 2, 2009

I just learned that this season is definately the last season of Scrubs as we know it. ABC wants to make it a long-runner but Zach Braffs who plays JD has made it very clear that this is his last season, nor will Bill Lawrence continue to produce it. It is highly likely that the show will go on, but the cast would be a completely different one, or at least one without JD.
All good things must come to an end. In my opinion it’s better to end the show than to continue on with what is inevitably going to be a flop. Scrubs is just not Scrubs without JD.
What do you guys think?

I read Joels (I link you a lot don’t I Joel) entry about his tattoos and I remembered how I once wanted a tattoo.
I really wanted to get a tattoo but E absolutely hated the idea and he was very much against the idea. However, he told me to wait at least a couple of months to make sure it was something I really wanted. And if I still wanted to get one after a couple of months he wouldn’t say anything and let me do it. Well, I decided that was reasonable.
A few months passed and I completely forgot about even wanting a tattoo until now when I read about Joel’s tattoos. I realize that I don’t want a tattoo at all anymore. It would have been a huge mistake to get one and something I would have regretted probably for the rest of my life. So I guess I have to say thank you to E
This is why he is so good for me…
Anyway, I have nothing against tattoos at all. And yours are very hot Joel!
It’s just not something for me. I’m a very changeable person, and something that I love one day I will end up hating the next so making a permanent drawing on my body is way too risky business because I know that whatever animal/flower/sign etc I choose today probably will be something I’m not all that happy with in 10-20 years.
Yogurth Pretzels January 28, 2009

I’m completely addicted to yogurth pretzels. Mhm. Anyone dare to say they’re not a delicious treat sent from up above?
Just got back from chemistry lab. Chemicals = fun
I have a problem though. I poured all the yogurth pretzels on top of the other candy in my candy jar so now I can’t reach the fruity fishes on the bottom when I want to mix things up by eating a pretzel and then a fruity fish. What to do?

Haha Joel sent me this video. Hilarious
Edit: wow it looks horribly wrong when you only see the ‘cover’ picture for the video.
Strawberry snot January 27, 2009

I really do have to update every day to keep my visitor numbers up.
Loooong day. Aced my chemistry quiz and when I got out of class it was actually snowing. Well ’snow’, more like a micture of rain, snow and pieces of ices falling from the sky. Did classes get cancelled? God no.
We extracted DNA from strawberries in lab today. Mash strawberries in a plastic bag, add an extraction buffer containing detergent, mash some more, pour the liquid through a cheese cloth into a cup, take the strawberry juice, add ethanol and the DNA in the strawberry juice will precipitate and form a slimy, snot-like ball. You can actually see the spiral of the helix though. Very cool
I think I know why I find it so hard to get along with girls here. I’m not really the ‘Oh my god I LOVE your shirt”- kind of girl. Nor am I sure I actually want to be like that. Yes, I want close girlfriends to gossip with, but I’m not sure I want the kind that likes you based on your clothing… Yea, I know I’m exaggerating.
Anyway, time for scrubs soon. And candy

and god it pisses me off that we don’t get hot water in this building until like 6pm nowadays…
I want to be able to shower in the morning without turning into an ice cube.

Lazyness kind of got to me this weekend, even if I did do a couple of hours of math yesterday. But now I need to run a chemistry-marathon to catch up on all the assigned homework problems for the quiz and I have a 5 page essay draft due on tuesday.
Putting on my study outfit and making a cup of tea and I’m all set
Milk January 24, 2009

For some reason my tummy doesn’t seem to get as upset by the milk here as it does back in Finland. Is most of the milk here already ultra-pasteurized to the point where it doesn’t really contain lactose anymore? I mean I can still tell a slight difference between a milk-free diet and when I do drink milk but it’s not nearly as strong of a reaction as the finnish milk tends to give me.
I find this pretty interesting, my theory is that unlike in Finland the milk here in the US is generally lactose-free. Does anyone know anything about this? Would be nice to know why I don’t have a reaction to milk here.
